Marisha Wallace to join Something Rotten! cast alongside Jason Manford and Richard Fleeshman

Something Rotten has announced further casting for its UK premiere in Manchester this summer. 

Marisha Wallace will star as the musical’s leading lady, Bea, having performed in the Broadway production of Something Rotten a decade ago before moving to the UK. 

Wallace will join previously announced Jason Manford as Nick Bottom and Richard Fleeshman as William Shakespeare. 

Something Rotten! is a mash-up of Elizabethan drama and showbiz satire combined, following brothers Nick and Nigel Bottom as they attempt to out-write Renaissance Will Shakespeare by inventing an entirely new theatrical take: the musical!

The new UK production will be directed and choreographed by Tim Jackson and written by John O’Farrell with music and lyrics by Karey and Wayne Kirkpatrick.

Something Rotten will run at Manchester Opera House from 16 June - 19 July 2026.

Jason Donovan to join High School Musical

​ Photo Credit: Photos provided by production.  Hope Mill Theatre and Chris Harper Productions with Lowry have today announced Jason Donovan will star in Disney’s High School Musical as Coach Bolton. He will join previously announced Tobias Turley, Leonor Correia, Caitlin Tipping and Luke Bayer.  Celebrating 20 years since the iconic movie’s release, Lowry, Salford will open the first UK non-replica production on 22 August 2026 which will now run until the extended date Saturday 19 September.  On joining the production, Jason said  “High school musical was such a massive part of my kids early childhood. As a parent and as a musical fan the film was family entertainment at its best. Magical! Loved it.
