Anna Zavelson to star as Christine Daaé in Phantom of the Opera


The Phantom of the Opera will welcome a new Christine at His Majesty’s Theatre later this month.
It has been announced Anna Zavelson will play the role of Christine Daaé for a limited 11-week run from Monday 18 May - Saturday 1 August 2026.
Zavelson previously played the role of Christine in Masquerade, the immersive New York adaptation of The Phantom of the Opera, with her other theatre credits including her debut as Younger Allie in The Notebook (Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre), Chinese Republicans (Laura Pels Theatre, Off-Broadway) and The Light in the Piazza (New York City Centre).
Anna will appear alongside Dean Chisnall as The Phantom, Ashley Gilmour as Raoul, Joanna Ampil as Carlotta Giudicelli, Martin Ball as Monsieur Firmin, Adam Linstead as Monsieur André, Helen Hobson as Madame Giry, Bradyn Debysingh as Ubaldo Piangi and Millie Lyon as Meg Giry, with Colleen Rose Curran appearing as Christine Daaé at selected performances.
The cast is completed by George Arvidson, Michael Baxter, Embla Bishop, David Burilin, Polly Clarke, Leonard Cook, Hywel Dowsell, Connor Ewing, Florence Fowler, James Gant, Emily George, Melanie Gowie, Molly Hall, Eilish Harmon-Beglan, Will Hawksworth, Matt Hayden, Nicholas Hepher, Mandy Kwan, Verity Marlow, Tim Morgan, Inguna Morozova, Skye November, Taylor Pardell, Johnny Randall, Zoë Soleil Vallée, Rachel Spurrell, Jasmine Wallis, Victoria Ward and Ralph Watts.
The Phantom of the Opera is produced by Cameron Mackintosh, with music by Lloyd Webber, lyrics by Charles Hart and additional lyrics by Richard Stilgoe, and a book by Stilgoe and Lloyd Webber. Originally directed by Harold Prince, this production is directed by Seth Sklar-Heyn and features orchestrations by David Cullen and Lloyd Webber, with musical supervision by Simon Lee, design by Maria Björnson (sets adapted by Matt Kinley), associate costume design by Jill Parker, lighting by Andrew Bridge with associate lighting by Warren Letton, sound by Mick Potter, and musical staging and choreography by Gillian Lynne, recreated and adapted by Chrissie Cartwright.
The production, now in its 40th year in the West End, will continue its run at His Majesty’s Theatre and is currently booking until March 2027.
